didn't have any pieces of the plugs fall into the cylinders?

it won't turn in either direction?

I can't think of any reason that a crank could turn in a short block and then not be able to turn. have you done anything with the crank or the connecting rods? new bearings? did everything spec out within clearance spec?

what are you using to rotate the crank?

you may have to take the bottom off and look for a problem. you may have to disconnect the connecting rods and push the pistons up and away from the crank to see if you have a piston stuck. if they all move away from the crank then see if the crank rotates. If the crank still won't turn loosen the main bearing one at a time and see if it turns after each loosening. somewhere it should be able to turn.

@Fred you should have a transmission shop look at your truck. they should have a scanner that can look at the trans and see what it's doing. If you truck has a computer controlled trans.

I have tried what u you suggested with the bottom end of the motor unbolted all 8 pistons from the crank then and removed all five of the main bearing caps and send them back in and moved the crankshaft down a little bit and still cannot turn the engine even remote driveshafts thinking that might cause it
