Neutral safety switch
On an 03 alero neutral safety switch, which connector is power in & which connector goes out to starter?
Re: Neutral safety switch
so, the problem is the starter is not turning on?
you have a starter relay in the underhood fuse panel. have someone turn the key to start and see if you feel it click. You might look for another relay and switch it. Horn relay or ac relay (a relay that is the same as the starter relay but not one that will keep the motor from running) Turning the key to the start position doesn't send a signal to the starter on your car. It tells your computer to start your car. The computer looks at a bunch of things to send the signal to the starter relay.
here's a wiring diagram for your starting system

Starter relay
In my 03 olds alero I noticed there is no fuse in the starter relay
(11) spot. Could that be why my car won't start. I checked the neutral safety switch, that seems fine. Starter also checkout fine. I does start sometimes.

Re: Neutral safety switch
the starter fuse is the big 40a fuse for ign sw batt 1. That's the fuse that sends power to the relay for the starter solenoid. Try switching the relay with another relay with the same numbers or figures on it. It might be just a bad relay
