Could misfire be caused by low voltage knock sensor

knock sensor will affect the ignition timing. It should not affect whether a cylinder will misfire (usually under normal circumstances) A misfire that causes a ping could cause a knock sensor code though.

11 suburban makes bumping sound

Unread post by kasey » Fri Jan 27, 2017 8:32 pm

New engine/transmission Sept '16 (131k miles). Car started making a bumping sound & medal sound like a hard shift typically around 30-40 mph. Warranty replaced tranny Jan '17 (141k) with another new one. Picked car up today...same bumping problem. Trans guy has no idea. Any thoughts?

without driving, feeling, hearing what the noise/bumping, I would have a bigger problem guessing what the problem is than the tranny guy. Is it just one bump when it happens? Is it like you're running over a series of bumps? Did the tranny guy drive it with a scanner on the trans? Torque converter problem? Where does it feel like it coming from? Does it happen every time or just occasionally?
