2000 chevy 3500 no start

2000 chevy 3500 no start

I just put a new 5.7 motor in my 2000 chevy 3500 the old one ran when i took it out but the new one won't start it has no spark and no fuel i can jump the fuel pump relay and the pump works but does not com on with the key and there is no spark at the coil. any ideas ?

if you just replaced the motor, and the old motor used to work, something might be unplugged. I'm sure you over all the connections but just go over all the connections one more time. What happens when you turn on your key? Does the dash light up normally? Do you have a security light on? Is the engine cranking over but doesn't start?

fuel pump relay should come on by the PCM powering up the fuel pump relay wire. but the ground for the relay is G119, on the right front of the motor. make sure you have a good good ground connection there. The ignition control module grounds to G117, right rear of the cylinder head. and chcek ground G120 also at the right rear of the cylinder head.
