I have a 1982 El Camino 3.8 v6 and it all of a sudden started losing power when take off. We did put in a new fuel filter. What could be the problem?

check your fuel pressure while accelerating. You could also check for excessive back pressure in the exhaust. MAF may not be working correctly. if your MAF has an intake hose has a leak in the tube it would usually open up because the engine torques over when accelerating. You could hook up a graphing scanner and watch your TPS, fuel trim and what your oxygen sensor does when you are experiencing the problem.
