Pontiac Sunfire trac off light

Unread post by mscar65 » Wed May 08, 2013 6:49 pm

Had oil change and got 4 new tires on my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. Now the trac off light is staying lit and it's shifting very hard. Check engine light came on earlier and I took it back to the shop...they cleared the codes and said that should fix it. Now the trac off light is on again and the shifting is hard...no check engine light yet. Suggestions?

Yeah, take it back to them and have them fix it. They obviously messed something up. You shouldn't even be on here asking such a question, you should be back at the place that repaired your car and raising hell. That's the trouble with independent shops and other non-dealer repair facilities....always a bunch of hacks.

Actually, that's exactly what I did. I took the car back to them and demand they fix whatever they had done. While they claim to find "nothing wrong", miraculously the car is now fixed.

That's usually what happens, but at least it's fixed now!
