Problem with my 2004 chevy cavalier
2.2 four cylinder
Repair work done prior = In Aug. 2007 gm paid for front wheel bearing replacement.
GM tech = JK
question = my front wheel bearings are gone again after only 25,000 miles will gm pay
to replace again as Ive heard this is a problem on allot of 2004 cars
The normal warranty is 12 months, 12 k miles.
You can call the dealer that replaced the bearing to see if they will give you a
"One Time Good Will", since it should not have gone bad already.
Bearings are a common thing to fail on todays cars, but again, not that soon.
ABS / Anti lock brake warning.
The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses several sensors, motors, and a
computer in conjunction with the normal braking system.
The ABS regulates the brake pressure in order to reduce wheel lock-ups.
Reduced wheel lock-ups improve the driver's control of the vehicle during
braking.
Improved stability and steering enable greater control of the vehicle in the
case of an abrupt stop.
The ABS operation is available from 5 km/h (3 mph) to the maximum vehicle
speed.
A warning light means a problem was detected, and the system needs to be
scanned for codes in order find out the area the fault is in. With the light on,
ABS operation is not present, but normal braking is.
The Traction Control System is controlled by the ABS system.
