GM tech = jk
question = Someone went to move my truck but put the wrong key in and
now truck will no turnover the key will not turn the steering wheel is
unlock what do i need to do???? Thanks

JK:
If the wrong key was put in the ignition, and now the correct key wont turn
the ignition, then it sounds as if the wrong key has damaged the ignition
lock cylinder tumblers. You could try to spay WD-40 in the cylinder, work it
in and out with the correct key to try to free it up. Also light taping on the
cylinder with a small hammer. If this does not, the cylinder will have to be
replaced.
Theft / Security Light

The security system on todays cars and trucks prevents the vehicle from being stolen.
There are many variations of the system going back to the early 1990's.
This warning could be on when the engine is running, indicating a fault has been detected
in the system. If left un repaired, there is a good possibility that the car will eventually not
start.
There are several different possibilities for the cause of the warning, depending on the
make / model / year of the vehicle. Anything from a bad ignition cylinder wire, to a bad
cylinder to a dad Body Control Module (BCM).

question = My truck is hard to start mainly in the cold i live in Alaska where is gets really damn cold but my trucks
always plugged in. It used to start as soon as you touched the key now before firing it will sputter and then
start, the truck sputters when you take off from a dead stop also and will at a certain rpm driving down the road i
am a advanced mechanic but this things got me chasing my tail there's no engine light or history codes
GM Tech JK:
First of all, re-check the fuel pressure. It is a little low. It needs to be 55-60 PSI. These things don't run to
good with low fuel pressure. Also take a fuel sample to see if any contamination, or separating after the gas
sits a little while.

Check the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose after it has been running a while- then has been off for 1/2
hour. See if you smell fuel in the vacuum line. If so, replace regulator.
May have a plug wire breaking down. Spray with a water bottle when running, then brake torque it to see if
you can get one to break down.
