question = my wifes car has no power when driving it drives but doesn't crank out

Any number of things can cause a condition of poor acceleration, or lack of power.
Engine misfire- though that would cause a check engine light and trouble codes.
A sensor that is skewed or inaccurate.
Low fuel pressure caused by a plugged fuel filter, or weak fuel pump.
Restricted catalytic converter.
Will need to have a technician test drive to get an idea of what your car is doing.
