Chevy Monte Carlo ABS Code C1216 Repair

Question:
Service Traction system as well as ABS light are on the dash of my car when driving. We got the coes scanned and the computer scanner says DTC Code C1216. What does this code mean and how much is the repair cost generally. Do you know what the problem is? Problem is on my 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo. 3400 V6 DTC C1216.

Answer:
The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) monitors the On/Off state of each solenoid and recognizes when the ABS is in pressure decrease too long. This fault indicates that the EBCM was unable to decrease brake pressure enough to a certain wheel to prevent excessive wheel slip. Possible causes are any one of the four wheel speed sensor are faulty, the wiring at one of the sensor or a bad EBCM.

Some testing would need to be done to determine if a sensor problem or an ABS valve assembly problem. Checking resistane of each sensor. Should be between 800 and 1300 ohms. Testing of the valve and EBCM will need a good scan tool that can control the system while testing with a volt / ohm meter.

2004 Chevy Silverado ABS light and brake light on. Codes = Possible co265, co244 and co267.
Tuesday my wife parked my pickup in the garage and the ABS motor mounted on frame rail kept running so i had to un plug it. I taped on it with a hammer to see if something was stuck but keeps right on running. Hooked it up to computer. And those are the codes it gave us. So what do i look for?

Answer:
code c0265 is a loss of communication with the brake module. This is usually cause by a poor ground that is located on the frame, beneath the drivers side door / seat area on the frame. This code usually does not cause the motor to continue to run. The other 2 codes are a problem in the brake control module(EBCM), which controls the motor. This is your likely problem. If the ground is good, and there is no corrosion in the ABS connectors, then most likely the EBCM is faulty.

Question:
When I start my car, my brake light comes on and dings at me 10 times. Where the odometer is it flashes - service brake system - service brake assist - service traction control. 2006 Chevrolet Impala brake Light. Alignment and new trailing arm in rear. Brakes done month or 2 ago. I recently just had my brakes done and has been driving the same. I have no problems with braking.

Answer:
Sound like you have a electrical problem inside the instrument cluster or a bad Body control module. The BCM control the dash warning lights and may be faulty. You can try to tap on the top of the dash to see if that makes the cluster change. If it does, you need a new instrument cluster.

Question:
My front brakes are locking up. There are no brake or abs lights on. What is causing this? 1998 Chevy Monte Carlo 3.1L V6.

Answer:
we am going to need a little more information to help fix this problem on your Monte Carlo. When do they lock up? On light apply of the brake pedal, or do you need to brake hard? Does the pedal go to the floor?

Question: The abs light comes on and the traction control light goes on/off when put in drive it make a ding noise while driving but not when in park.
Answer: Possibly a bad wheel speed sensor. You need to get the computer scanned for codes. Also disconnect the front wheel speed sensors wiring harness and look for corrosion or a backed out terminal. Pull on each wire to see if one breaks or stretches. Repair as needed.
