question = The van will start then die. It will run if u hold the throttle at half or more. But
will not idle.  What could i check
JK:
I am assuming you replaced the MAP sensor for the code P0108- You stated Baro
sensor.
This code can either be the cause of the idle problem you have, or just the result.
The MAP measures manifold pressure and the computer compares it to what it expects
to see based on throttle position sensor, MAF sensor, etc.
Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Can be to the MAP sensor, or somewhere else.
The brake booster hose on the back of the upper intake, or a smaller hose on the
intake closer to the alternator are common hoses to leave disconnected or come loose
after a rear head replacement, alternator MAP replacement.
Even though I think this is a vacuum problem, it is possible that the MAP sensor wires
got pinched under the upper intake and just a little while to rub through the insulation
and short out to cause the code.
