2001 Chevy Tahoe
5.3 V8
Repair = Replaced brake pads and rotors
GM tech = JK
question = When I drive my vehicle straight and go to stop the breaks
seem to work fine, but when I hit the break and turn at the same time it
sounds like the anti lock breaks are kicking in and my vehicle doesn't
want to seem to stop. What could this be and how do I fix the problem.

JK:
The problem you describe sounds like you have a problem with one of the
front wheel speed sensors, the sensor harness, or the hub bearing. The
sensors are the most common. But if a front hub is loose, or the sensor ring in
the hub is worn, then the hub will need to be replaced. This problem would
usually set a code in the
ABS computer, and this makes it quite difficult to
figure out which side has the problem. Best way to tell which side has a
problem, is to have a scanner hooked up that can take a snapshot of the
speed sensor data as the problem occurs.
