1999 Chevrolet Venture transmission problem.

question = When I put the transmission it into Reverse it drives
normally, but when I shift it into Drive and I press on the accelerator, the
engine idles faster but the car has a harder time driving and starts
moving slowly and then picks up speed. While I keep my foot on the gas
and I switch from Drive to 3, I feel slightly more power, and when I
move the selector gear from 3 to 2 or 1, the car starts moving more
quicker and easier from a stop. I get the most power when it is set on 1.
When it is in Drive it has the most hardest time picking up from a stop.
It's as if the transmission is slipping. But why do I get more power
when I put it in 1 and why does the transmission work almost perfectly
normally in Reverse?
SF:
By what you are describing, it sounds as if when you put the shifter in drive
range (D) the trans is stating out in 2nd or 3rd gear. This is a default when
a problem occurs, usually in the transmission. Would need to get the
computer scanned for trouble codes. You may have a shorted shift
solenoid A or B. If so, replacement of both recommended. The solenoids
are in the side cover of the trans. This requires lowering the frame.
With the amount of miles on the van, there may debre inside which has
caused a shift solenoid to fail because the transmission is worn internally
and time for an overhaul.

GMC Trans Shutters
Transmission shudders going from reverse to drive when cold. After it warms
up some it doesn't do it as bad if at all. It has started to slip in reverse and
forward gears, usually at slower speeds, around corners or starting uphill.
It was starting to act up prior to a filter and fluid change about 3,000 miles ago.
SES Codes p0753 p0740
I need to know what these codes mean and what should I expect to pay to
get the van fixed? Can I drive it? What will happen if I did? Please advise
Oldsmobile P1811 Transmission Component Slipping
slipping when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear.O.K. After warms
up. I took it to a transmission dealer and the code was P1811. They said they
would have to do a software rebuild clutches and whatever else. Will tis take
care of the problem? NO check engine lite came on ever.

Question = I have an automatic transmission and my vehicle will not engage into reverse. When put into
reverse it just idles. It will go in drive and lags in low. Any suggestions?
Answer: Your transmission has an internal problem. There is
no electrical fault that will cause these problems. Possible
parts such as a low roller clutch, sunshell, etc. This would
need to have the transmission removed from your Malibu,
taken apart and look for the failure. Depending on the shop
you use, they will either sell you a rebuilt trans or fix yours.
