I have a 1999 Chevrolet k1500 4x4 5.3 L engine. It will start and turn over & over & over. It is getting gas to the fuel rail. I had a scanner put on it and the only info I got from the scanner is : misfire #4 & speed sensor bad. I also read somewhere that the crank shaft sensor could possibly be causing my problem. Is any of the things described above the cause of the problem I am experiencing or is something else the cause of the problem?
Answer: You say you are getting gas to the fuel rail, but did you actually do a fuel pressure check?
No because at fuel rail it squirted gas everywhere.
That doesn't mean it has enough pressure to start the truck. From what you describe, it sounds like you have a fuel pump problem.
I replaced the fuel pump about a month ago. But yes i know that something could have gone bad since then.
Before you get too deeply involved in chasing what it might be, I would at least put a gauge on it and check the fuel pressure to rule that out if it's ok.
I just got word that on the 1999 k1500 it is firing. Thank you for your time.
