work done prior = replaced the c.p.i.
GM tech = any
question = my truck isn't getting any spark 2 the spark plugs now and
it was getting spark before i replaced the c.p.i. When i put the jumper
cables to it i made sure the positive was the positive and so fourth
and i got a cloud of smoke from the passenger side of the motor
compartment down by the starter but every thing is still working all the fuses
or still good and so theres no spark to the plugs what would that area
have to do with my spark and what do i need to fix

That side of the motor down below is where the starter is, and also fusible
links. May have blown a fusible link. That may be the reason for no spark.
Also, what ever made a fusible link blow, may have also spiked something
else, like the ignition module.
