dash lights = no
GM Computer codes = no
Repair work done prior = none
work done to repair this problem = replaced fuel pump cam crank sensor
coil pack ignition modular checked fuel pressure 52psi sometimes no spark
GM tech  jk
question = while driving down the road car will shut off sometimes it will start
and backfires through the air intake other times it will just crank and no
spark if wait for 1/2 hour it will start some times out of ideas father of six
myself running out of money to not fix anything

The problem you are having sounds like 2 possibilities. Possibly a faulty
crank position sensor. A way to test that is the pour some water on the
crank sensor which is behind the crank pulley. When it is acting up, pouring
water on it cools it off, and will cause a faulty crank sensor to function
properly again. Another possibility is a faulty ECM. Under the pass. side of
the dash. These ECM's where know to give odd intermittent problems.
