Checking Power steering Fluid
With the engine off, clean the power steering cap before
removal. The level indicator is on the underside of the cap.
Some will have a COLD and HOT full mark. Adjust level to the
temperature of the fluid. If low, have the system inspected for
leaks. Low fluid can cause power steering pump noise, and
possible failure. Some typical areas of leaks are the lines,
hoses, steering rack seals.
Low ower steering level can cause whining, grinding, and loss of power assist.
